It seems that man has taken the job or role as the producer. But when the cockroach went thru dry times it actually did try to consume the fungus that grew on its droppings. My brother also told me that he had seen the wasp that parasitizes the cockroach. The roaches where paralyzed when the wasp managed to lay eggs on them. He said that the wasps only came after he and his mates had gathered a considerable size of roaches in a 1 gallon ice cream can.
